Mississippi Heat

The team made it to New Albany, Mississippi, today. It was a nice day of riding. Gentle hills. About 65 miles. But hot. Jeff said it was around 90 and he has a burnt nose and very brown arms with a white stripe where his lime green Hello Somebody watch sits. What a cool watch. I want one, but in purple. (Hello Somebody is supporting the team with helmets, watches, handlebar tape and more. You can support them by purchasing yourself or someone you know a fun watch or other accessory.)

Tonight the team shared a meal at Vainisi’s—a small Italian restaurant that reminded Jeff of Nonna’s in Springfield, MO. He said the food was amazing, the conversation interesting and uplifting. The pastor of the Methodist church where they are staying joined them for dinner and paid the tab. The generosity of hosts all along the route continues to humble and encourage Jeff. Tomorrow they ride about 90 miles to Columbus, Mississippi.

God, be with the team. Protect them and give them a voice and opportunities to speak. Bring them together in a way that turns all eyes to You. Thank You for another great day of biking!
