Aesthetic Soup is owned by Jeff and Marilyn Jansen, a design/editor duo who have worked in the industry for more than thirty years. Our skills, talents, and experiences are blended into a beautiful creative soup that can feed your project.
Jeff got his start in the graphic design world way back before Photoshop was even a neuron spark in the minds of John or Thomas Knolls. His first computer was an Amiga—tiny, slow, and USB-less— that opened the door for a future he could not have imagined. He quickly graduated to the Apple way of life and has not looked back. He is now fluent in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and various other design programs.
Jeff’s specialty is book design and production. He also has experience with magazine design, logos, identity packages, advertising, marketing, posters, and more.
Former clients include Harvest House Publishers, DaySpring Cards, Guideposts, the Parable Group, Evangel University, Blessings Unlimited, Worthy Publishing, Cook Publishing, OnCourse Magazine, and MDesign Interactive.
Marilyn bought that first Amiga and taught Jeff how to use it. Now the tables are turned as he is teaching her the newest version of programs and operating systems. Most of her work is done in Word and Adobe Acrobat, but she can find her way around the design programs when needed. She has been an editorial director, senior editor, product developer, writer, and creative director with various companies including Guideposts, Ellie Claire, Summerside Press, Worthy Publishing, DaySpring Cards, and M Design Interactive. She can take a product from concepting through printing.
Jeff and Marilyn have three highly creative kids, a cat, and a useless collection of old Apple products!
