Team Building

Today was a day of team building for the team. The rest of the team flew in and joined the seven who were already in Springfield. Hope Community Church has been so gracious and inviting, providing food and sleeping areas for the team. Jeff expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome they have received from the church. He also said the Chipotle provided dinner. They are offering meals throughout the tour. Yay! What wonderful blessings.

As part of team time, the participants told how they came to join the team. There were many stories and reasons. But when it came right down to it, each felt called by God to take the trip. The team now numbers 14. Those who flew in were Brad, Christina, Gary, Gunnar, Steve, Timothy, and Tom. They were also joined by Aaron Brown, a pastor from Joplin. Tomorrow (Sat.) the team will go to Convoy of Hope to meet workers and to do some safety training. Then they will head to Joplin where Aaron will give them a tour of the area and introduce them to some of the victims. It is looking to be a full, emotional day.

Gunnar brought in the Hello Somebody helmets for the whole team. Hello Somebody is a mission group that provides food for the hungry. Just one of the many groups that are partnering with Venture to make this trip successful. As they prepare to ride, the group is reflecting on how much they have riding on them. Venture, Convoy of Hope, Catalyst, Hello Somebody, Chipotle, and various churches, individuals, and groups have donated, planned, prayed, and supported this team to make the ride possible. Thank you. On a personal note, Jeff was able to spend some time with Jasmine. She came to the church to hang out and pick up some things from home. He said it was great to see her, Chris, Kaley and Emily. They had a nice visit. He is hoping to see both Jasmine and Joel at church on Sunday at Hope Church before biking to Branson.

God, please continue to watch over and build up the team. Protect them. Give them favor. Bless them. Amen!
